The last tech rehearsals have rehearsed, the outdoor site is open, and the 2014 Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival is underway. The mimes are screaming, Rambo has his salmon, and the llama is safe and sound in your apartment chewing on your couch.
The first indoor shows just started at 6, and there’s sure to be lots of nerves, and then lots of stories at the beer tent and later at the Kings Head.
The voyeurs are already out, peering into the myriad of performance that is strutting around, and there is a lot of it this year.
The critics are already scribbling, and picking favourites, and the exhibitionist artists are filling my inbox and newsfeeds with show invites.
Walkie Poetry starts tomorrow, and so do the later starts to the days, which means this blogger might actually get some rest tonight, so he can try to blog about something more than “Hey, the festival is starting now”.
But with two techs today, and 3 shows between my Venue Partner, my brain is kinda dead, so this is all I have today. Sorry Aunty Hilda…. I still hate you Bill Pats.
I’m going to go try and remember all of the things I rehearsed on Saturday… which seems like a millennium ago.
So if you are a voyeur, go peek into a performance and see what you can see, and even if you are here as an exhibitionist, you should try out the voyeur thing as well, because they all like it when you watch.
